The third Wednesday in April is known throughout Manitoba as "School Bus Driver Day." On behalf of Senior Administration and the Board of Trustees, we would like to thank our bus drivers for getting our students to and from school safely!

As a high school student, have you ever thought about working in the trades? Did you know you can start to study to be a tradesperson while in high school? Yes, you can! You can start your "hours" for your first year of college while in high school and can earn up to 8 credits towards your High School Diploma through the High School Apprenticeship Program (HSAP). Due to the conditions of continued snowfall and blowing snow in much of the Division, and Environment Canada’s ongoing blizzard warning for the Parkland, all MVSD schools and division facilities will be closed on Thursday, April 14. Staff may work from home.

Due to Environment Canada’s warning of a major spring storm poised to hit our region beginning overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning and lasting until Friday morning, all MVSD schools and division facilities will be closed on Wednesday, April 13.  Widespread snowfall accumulations of 30-50 cm accompanied by northerly winds gusting from 60-70 km/h resulting in zero visibility at times is being forecasted.  Staff may work from home. We are making this announcement prior to the storm due to the severity of the forecast and so that parents can plan in advance.  We will assess the situation as the storm progresses prior to making a decision on school closures and/or bus cancellations for Thursday, April 14.

Planning for the spring MVSD Ed Tech Community Outreach Series is underway! The goal of this program is to work with families so that they feel informed, confident, and prepared to use technology with the children in their lives. The Board of Trustees recognizes annually staff who have served five years or more with Mountain View School Division. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we were unable to gather together to celebrate our colleagues' accomplishments.
